Patagonia

Our travel through Patagonia has been the most rewarding experience of our trip.  We embarked on a 5 day / 4 night trek through the W-Circuit of Torres del Paine National Park, in Chile’s Patagonia region.

We started our journey with a few hour flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas... then a 3 hour bus ride to from Punta Arenas to the town of Puerto Natales... and from Puerto Natales another 3 hour bus ride to the entrace of Torres del Paine National Park... before finally jumping on a boat to the drop off point for our trek through the W-Circuit. Patagonia is not an easy place to get to, but the experience was absolutely worth it!

Day 5:

The final ascend to the top of Torres.  We woke up at 4:30am, just before sunrise, to get an early start.  It would take us about 2 and a half hours to get to the peak.  Our hike started out with rain, then sun, and finally snow...

The reward at the top, las Torres, was incredible.  The moment surreal.  However our journey wasn't over after our summit, we then hiked another 4 hours to the bottom of the mountain where we caught a bus back into town...
