Buenos Aires, Argentina
Tango, Polo, Family, Steak, & The Stones!
After an incredible hike exploring rugged and beautiful Patagonia we set off for Buenos Aires, to relax at a different pace and enjoy a few of the finer things in life. We would end up spending 12 nights in what turned out to be one of our favorite cities. Upon arrival, we got a tip from one of Sean’s family friends the famous Gringo in Buenos Aires (who we would later have an incredible meal with at La Cabrera, thanks Tim!) about a once a month local craft beer and food truck festival taking place at the Hipodromo Argentino horse track. Craft beer and food trucks, a perfect way to kick things off…

We explored the city the following two days and discussed a possible visit to Iguazu Falls before calling an audible… we recently learned during our travels that the Rolling Stones just happened to be in South American on tour while we would be traveling in the area, we unfortunately missed them in Buenos Aires, but noticed they were going to be playing just a boat ride away in Montevideo, the capital city of Uruguay in the Estadio Centenario football stadium… damn right, why wouldn’t we go!?! We were fortunate to get tickets to the show, caught the next ferry, booked accommodation, and enjoyed one hell of a concert!

After a wild one night trip to Uruguay, we returned to Buenos Aires where we relaxed in the city, ate, drank, and continued to explore...

We had to get a lay of the land, because we had a VERY EXCITING thing about to happen… our first visors during our trip were about to arrive, Sean’s sister Kelly and her boyfriend Eric!!!

We had an awesome 5 nights with Kelly and Eric in Buenos Aires where we explored La Recoleta Cemetery, grabbed some of the best za in town at Pizzería Güerrin, boozed at an 80’s rock club, took a Tango class at La Catedral (we are all pros on the dance floor now), went out for Argentine steak 3 different times ha, and spent a day at Puesto Viejo Estancia where we were treated to a traditional Argentine asado lunch (think tons of meat)... then watched the pros play Polo and best of all we even took Polo lessons ourselves then played a match! The match was hysterical, local Argentine kids whooped us!
Some of our faves with our faves…

Tango class date night!…

Learning to become Polo Pros…

An end to a great trip…

Thanks Kelly and Eric for visiting us, soo much fun! Doritos (nacho cheese duh), mucho vino, and Being Frank for life!!!
Now, off to 30 hours of travel including 4 flights and 3 layovers...
