South Africa:  A visit from the newlyweds!

As mentioned in our last post, we unfortunately missed the wedding of two of our very very dear friends, but lucky for us we got to crash their African honeymoon!!!

Our highly anticipated wait for the newlywed honeymooners to arrive in Africa was over, as the new Mr. and Mrs. Rory Walsh landed in Cape Town to kick off a week with us prior to departing for their slightly more romantic safari in Botswana.  We were more than happy to interrupt the start of their marriage and had one hell of a time doing so!!!  From cage diving with great white sharks to helicopter rides, the following is a brief recap of the amazing and hysterical time spent together...

After celebratory champagne and a tour of the their "honeymoon suite" decorated by Laura, we set off to get the Walsh's acclimated to the city, followed with drinks on Long Street and a traditional Ethiopian dinner at Addis in Cape...

(it tastes waaaay better then it looks haha!)

After a late night playing cards, in which Mrs. Walsh always won and it had nothing to do with the fact that she invented the rules, we continued the party with a visit to Camps Bay, the V&A Waterfront, and a trip up Table Mountain to catch the sunset (the view was awesome, the wait in line getting back down the mountain not so much)...

We couldn't make their wedding and didn't get them a gift on the registry, so we thought a surprise helicopter ride over Cape Town would be a nice start to their day and an awesome way for them to see the city bowl and surrounding coast...

The next few days were spent hanging in the coastal towns of Kalk Bay and Simon's Town, touring the Cape of Good Hope, making new friends at an ostrich farm, and cage diving with great white sharks!!!

The last two days of our adventure were spent wine tasting in the beautiful Franschoek valley, a relaxing and awesome way to end the trip!
